1/

I see the sunrise in the morning

And the mist roll o’er the ground

Songbirds call out day is dawning

Singing out the sweetest sound

A breeze it whispers o’er the heather

Casting waves across the glen

Where the clans they stood together

Defending Scotland till the end

Ch/

So bring me back ~ call me back ~ carry me home

Where I want to be

Bring me back ~ call me back ~ carry me home

To make my land free

2/

What has happened to my Kingdom

All the lives our brave men gave

We no longer have our freedom

Our heroes turning in their grave

Scotsmen fighting for their homeland

Their bravery was all in vain

For now we are ruled by England

Will we e’r be free again

Ch/

So bring me back ~ call me back ~ carry me home

Where I want to be

Bring me back ~ call me back ~ carry me home

To make my land free ~ make it free

Heroe's Lament is a song that tries to remind us why brave heroes like Sir William Wallace
gave their life and what they would be thinking if they could see Scotland now.
